With the family we spent a week at the campground. The location is great. Beautiful surroundings. Quiet. Lovely! You can find all kinds of things about the concept of farmCamps. But for us it was fine. The tents are functional and solid. It's luxury camping in a tent. That's what's for you or not. On 't looveld there are two fields where the tents are located. We were in the field with an unobstructed view of the meadows. We were very happy with that. We also had a view of the children playing in the little wooden train and nearby playground. Perfect. But there were a few things we were a little less pleased about. We understand that the campground is combined with a farm. That's the charm. It was "advertised" upon arrival that you could join to pick up the cows from the field. "Every day these are picked up around 6 p.m. for milking. Great fun to do this with the kids. Boots on and trudging through the mud and flax behind the traffic jam of cows. But "around 6 p.m." turned out not to be true every day that week. Several times we stood with our small children, along with other people with or without children, waiting behind the stables for the farmer or farmer's wife to fetch the cows. Then we stood there and nothing happened. Nothing was communicated either. Once it was around 6:45 p.m. when we just walked back to the tent. The cows were then taken from the field much later that evening. Also one time the farmer was busy behind the stables. It was already much later than 6 p.m. and we stood there with some other people waiting patiently. But also then nothing happened. So we returned to the tent without success. There must have been a reason that it was not always possible at 6 p.m.. We understand that we were on a farm where not everything can go according to the clock of the guests. But when you have guests and they are waiting you might be able to say how or what in passing on the tractor. At least we felt a little silly standing there waiting while either the farmer drove by. Or another time when we didn't see anyone and later understood that the farmer's wife was celebrating her birthday. We weren't the only ones who felt something about the lack of communication. But because it felt we were in the way with our wishes and expectations, knocking on the door of the house or coming back to it later with the farmer or farmer's wife was also not inviting to us. On the farm, as far as we could judge, the animals looked good. The farm had cows and calves, of course. Horses, goats, a pig a dog and a lot of cats. At one point I counted 17 cats running loose and gathered behind the barn and lying in wait for the milk the calves were getting. In a couple of rabbit pens near the reception area were kittens. One of them occupied the minds of some guests more than we initially thought. The critter had a condition in one eye. I don't know about it but it looked very bad. The eye, or where the eye sat perhaps, was enormously bulged and looked like an open wound. A few days later the critter was no longer in the pen but was running around loose with a brother/sister behind and in the stables. At one point it walked among the cows who curiously chased it. I could not imagine that this was the intention. But later the farmer's wife indicated that it was okay and I could let them run.... Maybe I have a different idea of what is good or not so good when it comes to that. But we didn't think it was exactly advertising animal welfare. Also, the potholes near the parking lot were very deep. I would say: a few shovels of sand on it and the shortcoming will be solved temporarily. And the tile near the bridge that was raised caused some stumbling. Also easy to fix it seems to me. If the farmer or farmer's wife are not visibly present, there is no one else who can be contacted for questions. This is inconvenient when you have a campground with guests.

Prachtige omgeving. Rustig. Heerlijk! Daar waren we erg blij mee.
